Second Trash Meet:
PRR Trash Hounds Collapse From Exhaustion!
April 9, 2005
by T. Alan Place

The second meeting of the PRR Trash Hounds took place on a sunny, breezy and cool Saturday afternoon. There was no portent of the drama to come. Eight of the renowned Trash Hounds, under the guidance of Fearless Leader Nancy Chaney, cleaned up the PRR section of the highway running from the Washington State line to Milepost 3 on the Troy highway. The Hounds worked feverishly at their task, working so hard that by the time they got to Tidymans the entire group collapsed from sheer exhaustion. This tragic scene can be observed on the attached digipics.

Exhaustion was not the only factor contributing to sudden swoon of the Hounds. Nobody had ever known the location of our endpoint, which is Milepost 3 on the Troy Highway. Today it was found opposite Parker Ford. The horrified Hounds realized that they had cleaned up hundreds of yards further than necessary at the first Trash Meet last November. This was traumatic for already depleted systems. Collapse was inevitable. Clearly, rehydration therapy was urgently needed, so the dazed and exhausted group was transported to Branegan’s. Several pitchers of rehydration fluid were administered, followed by health food resembling mini-pizzas. We are happy to report that everyone recovered. All members should be proud of the PRR Trash Hounds.
