Darby 7 Run

The Darby 7 runs for five miles through the country and two miles along arterials and through suburbs.

Darby 7 runners go north from Eggan Youth Center (D St and Mountain View Road) along Mt. View Rd, and then turn east (right) off the pavement onto Darby Rd.

There is no road sign, but Darby is the first gravel road on the right off Mtn.View Rd. Run half a mile along Darby.  You are now doomed.  You are already committed, and now face two minimegahills that cannot be seen when starting out on Darby.

Life gets easier along Olsen and Robinson Park Road.  Take the Mill Road cutoff to avoid a section of the more heavily traveled Robinson Park Road.  After rejoining Robinson Park Road, you will run over a hill to the Slurp & Burp, which is a renowned rehydration center.  Carry on west and cruise downhill on Joseph, and then turn right (north) on the Meadow St. cul-de-sac.  The entrance to Carol Ryrie Brink Nature Park is a wood chip trail starting at the end of Meadow.

Follow the trail west along the north edge of the playing fields to Mountain View Road.  A right chicane takes you over to Sixth.  Run west on Sixth for 200 yards until you see a concrete path on the right (north).  The path is opposite a funeral home, which feels appropriate at mile 6.  Go north along Cleveland until you reach the path across the school playing fields to Eggan.
