The real Paradise Path runs
west to east through Moscow. It connects the Palouse Trail
at the Perimeter Drive/Pullman Hwy intersection to the start
of the Latah Trail east of the cemetery on the Troy highway.
Our run of the same name starts at the Memorial Gym on the
UI campus and runs east through campus and joins the real
Paradise Path at College Avenue. Cross Hwy 95 at the light,
and run east on the old railroad bed (currently rolled
gravel). The trail leaves the railroad at the first bridge,
and goes down a gravel ramp into Berman Creek Park. Follow
the paved park trail until it rejoins the railroad. Carry on
east to Styner Avenue. Here you have two choices. You can
run straight east along the railroad to Mountain View Road.
Or you can take the Secret Trail, known only to a chosen
few. To get to the Secret Trail, cross Styner to get to
Travois Way. A short distance along Travois you will see a
fire hydrant. Duck into the trees at the hydrant, being
careful not to be seen by riffraff. There is a beautiful
hard packed dirt trail through the trees. Rejoin the
unenlightened at Blaine. Run east to Mountain View Road,
turn north & cross the Troy highway. Turn left onto the
county fairgrounds at the fire station. Run west on Harold &
Spotswood, cross Hwy 95 & rejoin College Avenue. After a
steep 70-foot climb up University, you have a downhill
cruise to the gym. This is a nice sheltered run if the wind
is out of the east.
